Terry Brock: Business Networking is people connection — with business in mind. We’re all people first, businesspeople second. It is vital that we build trust to do business. The human connection allows us to make progress in a mutually-beneficial, value-for-value way.
Josh Hinds: Can you share one idea that someone could put into practice that would help them to improve their business networking skills?
Terry Brock: Listen. Yes, really listen to the other person and their point of view.
Josh Hinds: With first impressions being so important — how can someone go about making the most positive impression upon meeting someone else?
Terry Brock: Research as much as possible before meeting the person so you can relate to them where they are. This is paramount for a successful relationship of any kind.
Josh Hinds: Based on your experiences, which places and activities have you found best for meeting new people and expanding your professional network?
Terry Brock: Conferences and seminars are some of the best places. Being involved in organizations on a regular basis is vital.
